Again, it's no brainer. With immediate Elite + status via DL, you will get lounge access and full SkyP benefits. While with the FB rules changing in 2 weeks now, achieving Platinum (or even Gold) from scratch will require more flights than before and so it will take some time for you. I am no expert in renewal conditions for Plat status with DL but I always read here that it was easier for non-US based members than for US ones due to the minimum spending requirements for the latter.
