Dave's question is important. If upgrading a paid stay or award stay, plus since it looks like you stayed in Feb/Mar how was their occupancy? The 17,000xpf is more reasonable if given a better OWB, like panoramic. I'm surprised they don't encourage pre-pay at the same rate (especially in light of the favorable exchange rate right now for them (some forecast for USD to strengthen in coming months - in fact May-August is usually not good for Euro vs USD anyhow, XPF is tied to Euro). Maybe different department that takes care of pre-pay vs waiting until there. This property is driving us and others to other properties due to high upgrade rates. There are individual homes, some even beachfront or have incredible views from the sides of mountains (with great owners) that are close to just the upgrade rates they want. I bet the other resorts and islands love Hilton Moorea's high upgrade rates. Lots of choices and islands in FP. Best snorkeling in Moorea is not this resort, but the Moorea Lagoonarium, which is closer to one of the other resorts anyhow. I'd also like to know from recent guests, was the mattresses a bit on the mushy side. I hate mushy mattresses, kills back. Last time I was at this resort I even tried sleeping on the matt from the lounge chair. I don't have to have 'firm', but something reasonably supportive.
