Not sure if that would fly. FWIW, when taking the rental car company CDW, it is often tiered by value (MSRP) of the vehicle. I forget the exact cutoff in NY but it’s either $9 or $12/day, and if you get upgraded to say a larger SUV, even on a regular full size rental, the CDW fee will be bumped up. No way around that, IME. (Other than declining the upgrade).
Regardless it seems silly they won’t cover a few $000 damage just because it’s a Jaguar. But apparently they’ll cover the full $25k or whatever if you total a Camry.
