Is my math wrong on a redemption, or is this an awesome value?

Hi,

I am now based in SEA, and my BA account has 72k Avios left.
I was looking at a flight to Europe, which is a huge 2000$ as a revenue ticket with BA.

However, looking at the same flight using Avios, the base offer is 40500 Avios + 467$, which, if my math is correct, means 3.86 cents per avios as redemption.
But then I had a look at the "More pricing options" section where I can see 15800 Avios + 787$ - which again, if my math is correct, means a whooping 7.87 cents per avios

Am I correct thinking that just using the 15800 is the right call here, as a "buy-in" for a redemption ticket - instead of spending 24700 Avios for "only" 320$ more.
What is the usual "acceptable" cents per avios that is considered good value?

Cheers!

PS: I guess the wide-availability comes from my Gold status and the extra availability, and that I'd want to make sure I take full advantage of the extra availability before it expires in Oct 2018?
