The plane is large enough that your "airspace" is not compromised by the fuselage curvature.
You get enough legroom that you can walk between the wall and 40 B/H to exit, the tray is in the armrest.
While row 40 has infinite legroom that turns very finite during rush hour at the lavatories. Sharing 40 BC with the wife I had to enforce my territory through the use of forceful kicks. We would pay the minimal upgrade fee to the two middle PEs to fly together rather the cheaping it out in row 40.

Minimal upgrade fee to middle PE? I thought any PE seat was like a $1000+ price difference from coach.
