Yes, I've been to one store with this policy and lucky for me, I had fair warning since the guy ahead of me buying a $3xx MO was asked not just for his DL but also his SSN card(!); needless to say, I got out of line to get out of there quick. LOL
I'm just glad this isn't any of my go to stores. I remember one store that's not so near me used to be MS friendly. FWR, one time I was surprised this friendly cashier started asking for a paper credit card bill even if I told him in the past I was on paperless statements. Someone must've burned this store, he also asks to see the cards now and wouldn't allow VGCs nor online GCs with names. There's another one like him who has become super strict; I'm just glad they have not "infected" the rest so I can still load prepaids with the rest of cashiers at regular register lanes. I just can't buy MO, do B/P or load prepaids when they are at the MC registers.
