I also prefer to use soap.

Living in Asia, I too find it odd when hotels don't provide me with toothbrush and razor. For example, Le Meridien Barcelona where I stayed last week. Had to request these items despite paying about 3x the rate I pay at better Le Meridiens in Asia. I don't actually use the toothbrush and razor. It's the toothpaste and shaving cream I'm after.
Yes! I bring my own electric toothbrush and razor but I do need toothpaste and shaving foam when I travel. I find it annoying and wasteful though that these items always come in the same pack as the toothbrush and disposable razor. I wish hotels could just offer the toothpaste and shaving cream separately.

Oh and why can't Sheraton provide a more luxurious shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. It looks cheap and tacky. Why haven't they partnered with some sort of luxury brand (e.g. Sofitel and L'Occitane)? They only good thing is that they are practical because the words 'Shampoo', 'Shower Gel' etc are big and clearly identifiable - practical. I hate it when some brands fill the bottle space with rubbish and you can't work out which one is the conditioner! And why can't the shower gel be bigger than the shampoo / conditioner bottles? I don't think my head is as big as my body!
