Hi forum beings.

I have a RTW ticket which includes many flights with a variety of one world partners.
I am 100 points off Silver so wanted to try and upgrade one leg of this trip to bump my points.
I was told by BA rep the only way to upgrade on this ticket is to ask on day of check in if there are upgrades available for that sepcific flight - ie not available to pre request.
Does anyone know if I do this will I still get the relevant upgrade to my tier points for the upgraded leg?
The one Im looking at upgrading is return from Doha to London with Qatar.

Any help or similar situations please share.
