Does BA require IATA Card proof?

Hello, this might not be the right forum for this but I am a new travel agent and I belong to a host agency. They gave me an IATA number and told me that I can use this to book flights, hotels, cars, etc. for myself using this number but I wasn't given a card or anything with my name attached to it. My question is: if I book a flight with BA over the phone or online (we don't have a proper GDS System) would I have to show proof of my IATA card/number upon checking in? I haven't used the number previously so I'm not exactly sure... Any help is appreciated!
