I called and was told that it would cover upto $500 per ticket regardless of the total ticket amount. In my example above, it would cover 4 tickets in the total amount of $1,200. Makes sense that this is how it should work but credit card companies have had stranger interpretations so good to get confirmation. Still curious about anyone's experience in claiming this benefit...
