Have never made it off the lot with an expired registration (to the best of my knowledge). Had expired insurance on more than one occasion- have always been told when reporting it that it was no big deal. I had an instance back in January where at DTW an Audi Q8 was pulled up to ES as I got off the bus. Quickly jumped on it, but when I got to the gate- the agent scanned the car's bar code and an alarm started sounding. She told me I had to take the car back as the license plate was expired.
