Given what the lady told me, rerouting is fine if the destination is the same. I booked OTP-LHR-JFK-LAX-PHX but was shifted to ...JFK-ORD-PHX. On calling, we spoke about SFO on the A321T but booked the original route snd put in a night stop at LAX without cost. Changing PHX for LAS would have been charged.
