Beijing taxis have normal luggage space. I don't know how large your luggage is, but 4 pieces of checked luggage can be very tight. I usually have 1-2 pieces.

Some cities, e.g., Jinan, have LPG taxi, and the trunk cannot even fit a medium size luggage.
