Datapoint: On 2/20/2018 my wife was approved for this card at the lower 25k bonus. We called today to see if AMEX would switch her into the new 35k bonus offer. After being kicked around for 20 minutes on the phone she finally got to someone who would answer her. And the answer was no. :-(
I’d keep trying. Ask to speak to a supervisor and say how disappointed you are as you feel like an undervalued Amex customer and then ask for a courtesy 10K adjustment / credit.
