Unhappy Ugent help Verified By Visa Credit Card with Eva Air?

I recently made a booking from London to Bangkok and used my mothers credit card to make the booking (birthday present).

We went through the verified by visa with the cardholder/bank where they make you choose an option like receiving a text message or entering the password/passcode for the bank account and the payment was successful.

After booking we saw that I have to have the credit card with me, but I won't have my mothers card, nor can she go out to an eva air office as the closest one is 9 hours away (she is in the states). It says on their website FAQ's that people who do the verified by visa through the cardholder/bank when purchasing online will not get asked to show the credit card, but both my emailed receipt and electronic ticket say that I "Must show the credit card on check-in" even though we have the proof through a text message on my mothers phone that the payment was verified through the bank on purchase??? I also cannot take her phone, so I'm unsure of how to prove that it was verified by visa. Does it say on their monitors in check-in that it was verified???

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a different experience RECENTLY??? I am very stressed about this and considering refunding and booking with my own debit card. My mother is reluctant to post me a copy of the card on paper/id as well with a note or even a bank statement.

The flight is soon and I want to know other peoples experiences recently with eva air and having done the verified by visa process instead of just relying on eva airlines customer service.

Also, I'm shocked to find out they dont have a english number to call on the weekends, unless there is one hidden somewhere?
