Now that a couple of months have elapsed, and I am more confident in saying that my early observations about the disappointing service from my Hyatt Concierge relative to Starwood Ambassador were correct. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt at first and not judge too early, but I have seen more missed requests or slow responses from my Hyatt Concierge in 2-3 months than my Starwood Ambassador in 2-3 years.
I sent a request to worldofhyatt _ at _ hyatt _ dot _ com on February 18th to ask if I could get assigned to a new Concierge. On February 22nd I still did not have a response so I asked again. On February 28th I asked for the 3rd time. Still nothing from Hyatt as of now, other than the auto-reply messages. I am puzzled as to why they are not responding.
To be honest, the stark difference (in my personal experience) between my Starwood Ambassador and my Hyatt Concierge (and Hyatt completely ignoring me when I ask for a change!) is the key reason why I am going to blow well past 100 nights with Starwood in 2018 (perhaps reach 150) while I will only reach 55 nights with Hyatt to renew Globalist, and probably not much more.
With Starwood I am simply getting so much more out of my stays and they make my life easier, while with Hyatt I have to chase with reminder e-mails so they make my life harder than before I even had a Concierge.
I wish it was not the case, because obviously I would rather get great service from both Starwood and Hyatt, rather than only one.
