Being a double OWE (EXP/GGL) for some years, it's not an easy answer to your question. Going coach TPAC with CX earns zero with AA, little with BA. But your total travel pattern means more. TATL CW with BA and stopping in UK not as beneficial as connecting to other BA/OW destinations in CE/CW as BA terminology has Business travel. Also, the CX/TPAC that are in Business - if you're connecting to other OW flights in business, BA could be better, stopping in HKG maybe not.

Bear in mind that redemption generally is much more expensive on BA than AA. The unlimited domestic free upgrades and SWU's, in my early EXP years, were confirmed at reservation 4-6 months prior to flying, nowadays the day of flying. The availability of upgrades using Avios (UuA) and Gold Upgrades (GUF) has a more transparent availability, and is confirmed when you found an available seat.

My advice is to enter all flights into the Avios/TP calculator on the BA webpage (search: flight-calculator) , or the BAFT dashboard and see how many TP's your present travel pattern would yield. Consider shifting after you actually found the grass could be greener somewhere else
