I would have no compunction whatsoever about requesting to be compensated. Barging into a guest's bedroom at midnight is not an insignificant issue.
It was their last night and OP was checking out in the morning anyway. They have already been invited to talk to the GM before leaving and there was no "barging into a guest's bedroom".
It would be good to hear the outcome.
