Nice Ultimate experience at CDG

For those of you who have not seen yet the new s3 lounge at CDG, it is not overstated to say that AF did a very good job. The place has undergone a complete overhaul, with a central, open space resembling the 2G lounge. It features an open kitchen, with a cook who serves the PAXs, in addition to the usual buffets. As a personal note, I feel that the quality of the dishes and snacks has markedly improved since AF contracted SODEXO for its CDG lounges. The s3 was pretty crowded last night, as half of the lounge is still under construction. Still, I am impressed by the quiet areas, the spa, and, most importantly, the private room for Ultimates, far from the ruckus of the open space. There, we have comfortable chairs and sofas, a round table and an open bar — just for us . I was able to work for a couple of hours without being bothered prior to (post) boarding. Overall, a very nice experience, and kudos to AF.

PS/ Unrelated to the above, on my way to HND, I experienced the new meal service in J, whereby the food is actually plated, just like in P. This is in stark contrast with the traditional reheating-oven-to-tray service. There is a real effort made by AF and its crew towards improving both the gustatory and the visual experience. The low-temp cod was not ruined by the on-board ovens destroying the benefits of slow cooking, and the plate was actually elegant and appealing. Another kudos to AF (No, no, no, I am not brown-nosing here ).
