Depending on where you deplane in T8, it can take up to 15-20 min to walk to the AirTrain from your gate, it can be quite the hike. (Just follow the signs, it’s a bit annoying since there’s both an escalator down and up to get there).

Then bank in up to 5 minutes to wait for the AirTrain. Make sure to take the one to “all airport terminals” and not the other way. And 10-15 for the ride itself - it’ll stop at T7, T5, T4, T2, and then T1. As mentioned security at T1 can be a zoo, so add in about 30 min there. It’ll be pretty tight since adding all this up = 70 min but just walk fast. It’s definitely doable.

(I have checked with AA..... and my bags will be checked thru... both flights in 1 PNR)

Questions:
1) What is the best way to get from Terminal 8 to Terminal 1?
2) About how long will that take?
3) I realize I will need to go thru security again. I have TSA pre check. Does JAL (Terminal 1) have a TSA pre check line?
4) With 1.5 hours between flights..... will that be sufficient time to make the transfer?

thanks for all your expert advice.
