Grand Hotel, etc.
No recommendations (Paris is my least favorite hotel city) but a few comments...
I stayed in the Grand Intercontinental for 2 weeks a couple years ago. My room was huge and looked onto the Opera. However, the room was well-maintained but still felt old. The hotel just didn't feel that luxurious.
I don't know how well you know Paris, but the Place des Vosges is not going to be very convenient for gettting around on the Metro or general sightseeing. That said, I used to rent an apt in the Marais, and my wife and I would go for after dinner walks there. It is my favorite spot in Paris, and you should check out the gallery around the square that sells the hand-painted postcards.
I personally prefer the Prince de Galles, but the rooms are small and it's very polite. It may not be a good choice for a family with teenagers. If you do stay there, remember to try the lobster club sandwich at the Regency Bar. Excellent sandwich.
