I'm a member of AC and ANA's FF programs even though I've never flown them (ok, maybe I flew AC once 15 years ago), just to have access to some award info and transfer opportunities (e.g. got my sister a ticket via Amex transfer to AC). While EK is not known as a particularly rewarding program... there are surely some unused account collectors for whatever reason.
