InterContinental Wellington

Another year of renewing my InterContinental Ambassador status left me with another free weekend night, so we carefully planned a Friday and Saturday night in Wellington.

On our arrival, we were greeted at the front desk with the usual litany of explaining benefits that I’ve become used to at InterContinentals everywhere.



Our upgrade this time was simply to a deluxe room with a view. The room reminded me a bit of every InterContinental everywhere. Not that that’s a bad thing.

Bathroom had a window to the bedroom area with a blind that was controlled from outside the bathroom, which seemed a bit suspect.







The review

What this hotel lacked in personality it more than made up for in quality and brand consistency. The room was really, really nice. The hotel was really, really nice. The location was convenient to lots of things. Amazingly, it also ended up being one of the cheaper places we stayed during our two weeks in New Zealand.

I’d definitely stay here again.
