We are staying in Moorea at the Hilton for 5 nights next July, and then doing 6 nights in a Superior overwater bungalow at the St. Regis in Bora Bora. Right now we are booked for a deluxe garden pool bungalow at the Hilton. We can upgrade to a standard over water bungalow at the Hilton for $130 extra a night. Is it worth the price to upgrade? Or should we stay in the garden since we will be over water in Bora Bora? Thank you.
Sounds like they came back down to reality in regards to upgrade rates. Some were so high people were looking at other resorts and even renting houses. USD users must remember the exchange rate is not as favorable as in past. Currently it's 1.23 USD to 1 EURO (The Tahitian Franc is somewhat tied to the Euro). Loved it when it was 1.08 USD to 1 Euro when I was there last time. The weakened dollar makes it more expensive to travel to FP. The resort owners must keep aware of that if they want visitors and spending at their resorts for meals, spa and activities.
