You are correct. The laptop story was on a solo stay.

I should also point out that on same-day reservations, I've often phoned the PlatCon reservation line or walked up to the Front Desks of hotels and asked for their lowest PAID rate, and upon hearing it and it seeming way too high, I just did the laptop thing or walked to their Business Center to use their internet, and found a much lower rate available on the web site...booked it...then walked back to the Front Desk and checked-in.

Often to an amazed comment from the very same Front Desk Clerk of, "How did you get that rate!?" Guess they don't see those low internet-only rates on their at-property Sales screens.

Or where internet wasn't available, I try to get friend, family or an associate on the phone, give them my login info, and have them book it by "remote control."
