Hopefully a data point to help others looking for AUH-USA or vice versa F award space....
I was booked on a Business award MLE-AUH-JFK in January, 2019. Finally, this morning, some January F space opened up on both flights at
www.etihadguest.com. I immediately called the Executive Platinum desk in the US and sadly they could see nothing in F. I then promptly called the AA line in Australia (I confirmed with the agent that she was actually in Trinidad), and the agent saw F award space open on both flights. Since there were no incremental taxes, she simply took the additional miles from my account and reissued the ticket. Piece of cake. So yes, it still seems that US agents can't see award space while at least some non-US agents can.
