Yes, there's no point trying to convince people on either side of the argument. Some people love to sit around in airports for hours, I would have very little personal life left if I took that approach. I am in an extremely fortunate position, despite living somewhere extremely remote by UK standards (my farm is several miles from a road): for NCL you can arrive 30 minutes before departure and easily make the flight, so I can leave my home only after the aircraft has left LHR and I know it is on the way to NCL. At other airports I'm usually there about 1 hour before departure, sometimes a little longer, a little less at LHR or LGW and a lot less at LCY. Despite going to the wire every time, I have never, ever, missed a flight at my start point in my entire life. Some people would almost melt under the pressure of that, but they are just flying buses at the end of the day.
