Video Screens on A320

There was an identically-titled thread on this forum 12+ years ago (yes I did search), however that thread focused on entertainment, as opposed to safety, aspects.

Yesterday Mrs PtF and I were sat in 12E and 12F respectively on BA795 (A320 G-EUUC) HEL LHR. If my memory is correct there are drop down video screens at seat rows 1, 3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 25 (apologies if I’m out by the odd row here or there) over seats B and E.

The video screen over 9E didn’t drop down, so we were left straining to watch the safety video on screens at either 9B or 5E - an impossible task. While we were able to rely on the English language audio a non-English speaker reliant on video sub-titles would have been out of luck.

It got me thinking - given BA’s supposed focus on passenger safety is there nothing in their Standard Operating Procedures that requires cabin crew to ensure as a matter of course that all video screens are working, particularly for the safety video?

I did draw the matter to the attention of cabin crew, and even the captain as we disembarked - he cheerfully replied that he had logged the matter.
