Might be a silly question, but i can't easily find the answer: I have booked PHL --> HKG return in a couple months, with confirmed at booking SWU.
They now show as 'Used' in my account (even though not yet flown). Is that the way it should show?

Yep, the SWUs are pulled at the time the upgrade clears. This is different from 500-mi. sticker upgrades, which are pulled when you actually take the flight.
