Having just completed an AM RT SFO-MEX-MID in business class with my wife, I found the title of your TR intriguing and the details of the report itself entertaining. Actually, for these four legs, I'd say the highlight of our AM experience was the cabin crew and the check-in counters, for which the personnel ranged from solid to very friendly and helpful. I otherwise found dealing with the airline and its website problematic, and transiting through MEX on the outbound a real PITA, leaving us barely enough time to make our flight to MID despite well over two hours for the connection.
Agreed re the lounges being generally crowded and mediocre. On the way back I had time to check out the two AM, one PP and one Amex lounge. I'd say the Amex was the least bad of the lot.
I'd say that I'll never fly AM again, except I already booked one OW flight as part of a longer trip later this year. But aside from that, any future trips to Mexico will likely see me on other carriers and avoiding transiting through MEX.
