Kimpton Monaco Seattle

Kimpton Monaco (Seattle, WA - USA)

There are four Kimptons in Seattle -- this is the one across from the W Hotel near the Public Library.

What is your Priority Club status? SPIRE

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? YES

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? REGULAR KING upgraded to a SUITE

How are the rooms?

I was upgraded to a suite on the top floor, which was very nice. Living room area with couch and desk can be separated from the "bedroom" area by pulling a curtain, no door. Bathroom had a shower/tub, with dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash instead of separate items. These rooms have Keurig machine setups, so no need to request one at check-in.

How was your complimentary welcome amenity?

There was a welcome note from the manager on the desk, along with a bottle of red wine, some chocolate bark, and apple chips

Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take?

Applied the $10 towards dinner at the restaurant.

Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? No

Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? N/A

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD: The upgrade, along with recognition of status at desk ("IHG guests are still new for us ..."), nice of them to host a social hour with decent wine, room was quiet for a Saturday night with very little outside noise. Bed was fine (very firm pillows!), water pressure was good, though not great. Heating was fine.

NOT SO GOOD: Couldn't figure out how to dim the bedside clock/Bluetooth speaker, so ended up moving it to the bathroom. I'm sensitive to light, so blackout curtains would have worked better than wooden shutters. Seemed every single adult guest showed up for the social hour, with not nearly enough seating; also, there were (apparently) appetizer plates produced at times though I never got any. Had to wait for quite a while at check out, no elite lines or priority at all; at check-in I inferred that one needed to arrange the $10 credit at check-out, not automatically applied if keys left in room.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Decent value, especially with social hour and $10 credit. Yes, I would recommend/return.
