That SkyTeam loyalty is unimportant is nothing new, but it seems to be getting worse. Much worse. Last year, there was a huge drop off in February. This year, not so much. Maybe more people got American Express cards or signed up for Travel+Leisure or whatever else Delta is doing to squeeze a nickel.

I should be grateful Delta allowed me the privilege of being their guest on 50+ flights last year. The attached photo is the “SkyPriority” line, and my current rank in the upgrade queue.

United, American, BA, Lufthansa, pretty much anyone that isn’t SkyTeam that wants to give me a status challenge, DM me for contact info as there is no benefit for me to continue this relationship. I actually inconvince myself with layovers to stay loyal to an airline cartel whose only benefit seems to be a free bag or two. For me, it’s worth $50 to not visit Atlanta once a week.
