in my experience in this situation QR will be no help to you. Best just get travel insurance/Amex platinum and buy a very last minute full fare on whatever airline can get you to Budapest on time.
i wouldn’t even bother calling QT (I have had so many so many dealings with them and they are useless unless within policy which this won’t be).
think Prg vie Zagreb for possible destinations whih allow you to catch a pm flight on Saturday. Bts works or Kosice might work too, there are direct trains to Bud a few times a day for Euro 20
