Miles transfers from family members and credit cards don’t translate to status miles, sorry.
33k status miles flying F for 200% mileage accrual is an easy target when time and money are no issue.
Two RT flights JNB-IST-LAX in J should get you there and then some.
Getting to the same goal in economy will take a lot longer and on kinda short notice won’t be cheap either, Ethiopian earn good miles on M&S, even on lower fares, ADD-DUB-LAX would yield just short of 10k one way.
