Can anyone confirm that Air China will provide a free transit hotel for economy class passengers transiting in PEK (international to international connection) even if the layover is not the shortest possible one? On the website it is only mentioned that the free hotel is provided "for passengers who transit overnight within 24 hours": Transit Hotel, Airport Transfer to Hotels Information

I know that some other airlines would only provide the free hotel if there is no shorter connection possible. How does Air China handle it?
