I have a Synology RT2600ac. Super fast.

Has sFTP and FTPS with a USB port. Also supports VPN, SSL and SSH.

All your bases are covered.

I have a 2TB external hard drive plugged in which I tunnel in to from anywhere and the drive is AES encrypted.
