They're not gourmet, but they're certainly edible. They're better than most microwavable meals, and millions of people find those edible and even pay money for those! I generally find the nutritional value to be a bit lacking, but that's true on every airline, in every class. What in particular do you find 'inedible' about them? In order to reheat well they usually use some pretty heavy sauces, and reheating can also alter the textures of some foods, but this is another thing that's true across airlines. The differentiation in Y food between airlines is not huge, though there are some exceptions that step it up a notch, like Asiana. Honestly, if you can't stomach some fairly average food, I can think of a lot of places both in the US and abroad where you wouldn't do very well
