I travel to TPE quite often and am looking forward to Kimpton opening there. Have e-mailed them to check on opening dates but nothing concrete yet. HI East Taipei is out of the way and would not recommend it for someone on holiday. I usually put up at the Sheraton which is just beside the Metro (Shandao Temple station) and within walking distance to shops and eateries.
