Best value - if you can call it that is... booking last minute TATLs. I will probably need to do a US-UK trip sometime over the next week, with a last minute (i.e. a few hours) booking. Cash it would be $3k+ in Y (!), or 26k avios and $500 taxes/fees (plenty of reward seats available too).
