I've been looking around at my options. One thing that caught my eyes is the WD My Cloud hard drive. They have a 2TB one that's around $129 at Amazon or Best Buy. I assume that's pretty easy the setup for an old geezer like me? Just plug it into the router's ethernet port, create username/password, then install the app on a phone or laptop... seems pretty straight forward without having to deal with router settings?

The open question with something like that is does it handle going through your router, and finding your drive from elsewhere, automatically (though some service at WD and how it talks to your router -- presumably something called UPNP) or is there a lot of manual setup like port forwarding and DDNS? It
looks like the former (which is good!) but you'd want to read the manuals to verify that as I don't know this product well enough to be sure.
