As a sidebar, I haven't checked recently, but even while Avianca was messed up, I was able to find space on Avianca Costa Rica flights. I'm not sure how many routes that'd cover, but if you wanted to get to Central America, it might open some options.
AC + UA does not release as much J space as AV and CM unfortunately! also, they do not fly to as many destinations as AV and CM
