Marriott was a no go as well, so, good luck, 760devilfan. I guess I was somewhat surprised at how determined all parties were not to award the points/credit, which is perplexing given the relatively small cost of points. They could have offered me a fee that I would have paid - I would have learned my lesson to scrutinize my booking carefully, they wouldn't have lost the goodwill that was expended as I wasted my time chasing this down.

The good news is that this was the first stay of many in a new calendar year, and there's a Hilton right across the street...
