I thought to get the Chase benefits (free checked bag etc) the reservation had to be booked with that card. Presumably you had the reservation already if you just signed up for the credit card a couple days ago. I do recall that you can start booking flights right away when approved for the card because it gets added to your UA.com profile even before the physical card arrives. I would call UA.
My experience was that the free checked bag benefit requires paying for some/all of the reservation with the Chase card, but priority board does not. It kicked in around 2 weeks/10 business days from when I got the card (was midway through a reservation and didn't get it on an outbound flight but did on the return).
