In which case you may have come across a bug. PreCheck is offered by the DHS to participating airlines, and BA isn't one of these airlines. AA certainly is accredited, but it does not operate the BA service and no passenger on AUS-LHR should get PreCheck. The exception would be a connecting service to AUS, where legitimately PreCheck could apply to the AA (or whatever) service bringing you to Austin. BA flights are not currently eligible since BA isn't sharing all the relevant passenger data with the DHS. I do expect this to change in a few months, however.
