I stayed at Fairmont Mt Kenya in November 2017, it's a nice location - but if your primary reason for visiting is Safari, go to the Masai Mara. I did both on the trip but stayed at Ashnil Mara Camp, over the fairmont property.
Food at Mt Kenya was great, staff were fantastic. Was quite chilly after 6pm but the rooms had a fire which was lit at turndown service.
Are there NO safari options near Mt. Kenya, or just ones that are no good compared to the other location? I get that these locations are not really comparable. I was just looking for any reviews or ideas for the Mt. Kenya area. I have looked at both options, and would love to stay at both places, but I won't be there that long to make that worth it.
