i would like to ideally check in the luggage for LHR-YVR before doing the B2B to INV as skis and lots of bags are involved. But, as YVR departs from T3, would this even be possible or would I need to schlep to T3 first?

Had a same-day turnaround at INV last week. Due to some construction, the route from arrivals to departures is slightly longer than usual (and involves going outside) but it took about 10 minutes from the time I exited the aircraft until re-entering the secure part of the terminal after security. At that point, there were about 5-10 more minutes before boarding began for the return to LHR. So I would definintely not try to do anything involving luggage during your turnaround.
Tiger_lily, I realise that is not what you are trying to do in this case, but thought I would mention this recent data point for others reading the thread
