I know, off-this topic, but chiming in re UA: Sometimes they wait, sometimes they don't, at least IME: For a SEA-SFO-SYD itinerary all on UA. SEA-SFO departed late, We & other pax scurried as fast as possible to the SYD departure gate just in time to see the door close, the start of a two-day Odyssey to get to SYD.
