I need to book a last minute Y ticket GVA-HKG for a relative. She has no status with AY or OW in general.
Finnair has the best schedule and also the best price though it involves a 45-minute connection in HEL.
It's winter, the GVA-HEL is end of day thus the risk of delay is higher than in other circumstances. I guess missing the long-haul connection will lead to take the next day flight which is obviously something she (and I) would like to avoid.

What is you thoughts and experience on such a connection? If missed, is Finnair prone to rebook on other airlines to minimise the delay?
