Row 1 on the 319 has a lot more knee room, but less legroom than other rows, assuming you are able to get your legs under the seat in front. 1C has both kneeroom and legroom. Legroom is still reasonable, however. Personally I normally go for 1A or 1F, but any overhead baggage may end up a row or two back, depending on the precise equipment type, other passengers, position of the blue bag and so on.
