BA is a silent partner in the JV/TATL cartel. They benefit from the insanely high J TATL fares from Canada. Helps subsidise the insanely low fares in the other direction. It's always been a good idea to nest flights but I've never seen discrepancies like this year. Anyone who has a few J TATL returns with fairly fixed dates would be well advised to use a one way award to Europe to start with and have the trips originate in Europe. The savings are just ridiculous in 2018
